Investigate the claim
When the claim is in the “Investigation” state the Claim Handler that was defined earlier will be notified by email and the claim will appear in their “My Outstanding Work”.
The Claim handler can now populate more information in the Details tab as well as choosing how to proceed with the Claim.
There are 4 decisions that the Claim Handler can make:
Transition | Description |
---|---|
Invalidate the Claim | The Claim handler could choose to invalidate the claim. In doing so this will complete the process and require no further work. It is possible to re open the claim if needed by using the "Re Open Claim" transition |
Return Claim | If the Claim handler needs more information, it is possible to pass the Claim back to the person who created the Claim |
Request Clarification | The claim handler has the option to route the claim to another person in the company for further information. The person should be selected in the field "Claim Clarification" within the Assignee section. A target date can be set against this person |
Investigation Complete | This will pass the Claim to the status Claim Costing. This requires a person to be set in the field "Claim Costing" in the Assignee section and the field "Root Cause" must be populated in the section "Defect Description" |
All stakeholders that are defined in the Assignees section, will be notified by email as well as having the claim added to their “My Outstanding Work”.
