Implementation Tracker
Manage your PLM implementation project in PLM itself with this ready-to-use template.
Implementation of PLM impacts enterprise business processes and involves a large group of future users that have to be aligned continuously - and also the implementation partner. If PLM is used for this alignment, users will have a fast start in using Fusion Manage and get used to its mechanism. Additionally, PLM helps to provide transparency in the project progress, schedule, issues and cost.
This application does not manage a specific business process itself, but the PLM implementation specifically. As such, it is not connected to existing business process at all and can be used to onboard new users in a PLM system quickly. It is independent from the standard PLM use cases and can be used right from the start without any configuration efforts.
The template makes uses of standard functionality like the My Outstanding Work list, automatic mail notifications and reports. It uses a set of dedicated workspaces to keep it separate from the standard business processes.
Implementation Tasks Workspace
This workspace is used to document any activity that is required to make the PLM implementation a success. This includes system configuration activities, but also organizational activities. Tasks can be assigned to a responsible user and also a reviewer to ensure a proper outcome.
Once a task is completed, completion results can be captured, files can be uploaded, and efforts can be provided. Tasks may also be related to other tasks and Implementation Documents for reference.

Implementation Documents Workspace
During the implementation project, the team will create a lot of assets that have to be shared in latest version continuously with the whole team. Having them at hand in PLM saves time and prevents errors during implementation. These Implementation Documents can be described with few properties to enable search and linkage with related tasks.

Implementation Requests Workspace
Once the key users start validating the PLM implementation, new requirements will be raised. Such requirements can be managed as Implementation Requests in PLM to let them be evaluated by the project owner to derive automatic Implementation Tasks if needed.

Grouping Implementation Tasks
As implementation projects span a long time frame and plenty of processes, it is required to group the tasks accordingly. With this template, further workspaces get added to enable a grouping of tasks by various topics:
- Business Process (e.g. Bill of Materials management or Change Management)
- Project & Phases
- Events (like key user meetings or definition workshops)
Usage of these workspaces is optional and does not drive any business logic. It helps however, to keep an easy overview of the project timeline.
