Update an item's maturity level during a CR

A change request (CR) is the only process in Upchain that can update an item's maturity status. After a workflow is selected to use for the CR, the item maturity status may be updated in one of two ways:

• If the workflow contains the Update primitive to automatically update an item's maturity level to a specific value, you don't need to do anything.

• If the workflow contains the Update primitive to update an item's maturity level to the value chosen by the CR creator, you select the desired value from the CR maturity drop-down list.

  

1. Navigate to the Business Processes > Change request section in a project.

2. Double-click a CR to open it.

3. In the selected CR page, select a workflow from the Workflow drop-down list.

   • If the CR workflow is configured to update the item's maturity status then the CR maturity field becomes active.
   • If the workflow automatically updates the item maturity to a pre-determined value, you don't need to do anything.
   • If the workflow does not have a pre-determined item maturity value, select a value from the CR maturity drop-down list.

4. Configure any other fields on the CR.

5. Click Save in the top right corner.

6. Click Start workflow.

After the completion of the workflow, the CR maturity field displays the item's maturity status in the CR details pane and the Item maturity field is updated in the item's details pane.
