Create an axis perpendicular to a face at an external point

Learn how to use the Axis Perpendicular To Face At Point tool to create an axis perpendicular to a face at a specific point in Fusion.

  1. On the toolbar, select Construct > Axis Perpendicular To Face At Point axis perpendicular icon.

    The Axis Perpendicular To Face At Point dialog displays.

  2. In the canvas, select a face.

  3. Select a point or vertex external to the face.

  4. Click OK.

The new axis displays in the canvas, perpendicular to the point you selected external to the face.

Tips

  • You can only create one axis at a time.
  • Create custom axes when you want to reference an axis or edge that does not exist and is not one of the 3 default axes.
  • You cannot create an Axis Perpendicular To Face At Point through a construction plane.
  • Use an Axis Perpendicular At Point if you want to select a point that exists directly on the face.
