Create an axis along an edge

Learn how to use the Axis Through Edge tool to create a construction axis along a linear edge in Fusion.

1. On the toolbar, select Construct > Axis Through Edge .

   The Axis Through Edge dialog displays.

2. In the canvas, select a linear edge.

3. Click OK.

The new construction axis displays in the canvas, along the linear edge you selected.

Tips

• You can only create one construction axis at a time.
• Create construction axes when you want to reference an axis or edge that does not exist and is not one of the 3 default axes.
• The edge you select must be a linear edge.
• Use an Axis Through Edge when you want to reference the linear extension of an existing edge.
