Connection groups provide a way to link several connections together so that if one changes, all the other connections in the group change accordingly and continue to match.
In a connection group one connection is the master and the other connections in the group are slaves and must always match the master. Any changes to the master connection are instantly applied to all slave connections.
- You can easily remove a connection from the group to allow editing it independently from other connections in the group.
- A connection can be a member of one group only.
- The master and slave connections can be marked using the Search filter.
Create the Master connection
The connection between the master and the slaves is made through the name that the master connection receives, on the first page of the properties dialog box. The slave connections receive the same name automatically.
Modify the Connection Properties within a Group
To change the properties of connections in a group, the master connection must be modified.
You can use one of the following methods:
- Search for the master connection using the Search filter and modify the properties.
- Select for any connection in the group and define it as the master, then modify the properties
