Create Scheduled Tasks Dialog

This dialog is used when creating survey, repair, or work package objects as scheduled tasks.

It is displayed when Scheduling | Create scheduled tasks is selected from the Network menu, or when the Schedule tasks (Schedule tasks) button on the Scheduling Tools Toolbar is clicked.

Description

Task type to create

Lists the available task types. Depends on the type of network and the object(s) chosen.
Options
Create a new task

Creates a single new task of the type selected.
Create a new task for each selected item

Enabled only when the object type selected in the Task type to create field can be applied to a currently selected asset.

New tasks will be created for appropriate currently selected assets.
Create a single new task for selected items

Enabled only as follows:

  • When the object type selected in the Task type to create field is Pipe clean (collection network) and there is a current selection of pipes.

    In this case, a single pipe clean task will be created for the group of currently selected pipes.

  • When the object type selected in the Task type to create field is Valve shut off (distribution network) and there is a current selection of valves.

    In this case, a single valve shut off will be created for the group of currently selected valves.
Information Shows how many tasks will be created with the chosen options.

Creation Options
Assign to work package

The name of the work package which the newly created tasks are to be assigned to.

Entering a new work package name creates a new work package for the tasks, or an existing work package can be selected from the dropdown list which the new tasks will be added to.

Tip: If no work package is assigned during the task creation process, it can be specified later.

Create a location sketch for tasks

Enabled when creating tasks for selected items.

Creates a location sketch for the newly created objects.

Review task properties before creation

Displays a property sheet for the task that is to be created.

If multiple tasks are to be created, then the properties shown in the property sheet will be duplicated for the other scheduled tasks to be created.

If multiple tasks are to be created and the task is being assigned to a work package, the property sheet will show the Schedule page for the work package. All tasks associated with the work package will inherit all its schedule information.

Show new tasks in a grid

Displays a grid window containing the newly created objects.
Schedule valve shut offs

Applicable to distribution networks only.

This option is enabled when the following tasks are created:

  • Pipe repair
  • General maintenance
  • Hydrant maintenance
  • Meter maintenance
  • Valve maintenance

When the selected task is created, an associated valve shut off will also be created.

If the object for which the repair is created can be isolated by closing valves in the network, the valve shut off object will be populated with the valves found. Otherwise the valve shut off object will be left empty.
