Create a first article inspection report
Open the First Article Inspection Reports workspace.
Click Create
.
In the Basic section, fill in all fields as necessary. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk.
- In the Type of Inspection field, click to select the category of FAI this report contains.
- In the Reason field, select the purpose for this FAI report.
- In the Inspected Item section, click to select the item or items this inspection report will be inspecting.
- In the Target Date field, click to select the date by which this report should be completed. This is used to calculate automatic milestones for the report.
- In the Special Instructions field, enter any additional information regarding the FAIR.
In the Stakeholders section, specify the people involved with this report. This is not required at this stage, however at least one person must be added to the inspection team before the workflow can be started. This includes:
- Inspection Team – The people involved in carrying out the inspection report.
- Approvers – The people who need to approve the inspection report.
- Distribution List – Additional people who need to be kept informed on the inspection report.
In the References section, ill in all fields as necessary.
In the Related Project field, click to select the project this inspection is for.
In the Customer Name field, click to select the customer the inspected items are for.
In the Inspection Documentation field, click to select the relevant documents for this inspection report.
Note: Your administrator should have configured these fields to select items from the relevant workspaces.
Click Save.
The FAI report is created and assigned a number based on the rules set for this workspace. The name given to the FAI report matches the Type of Inspection option chosen. It is added to the list of FAI reports in the First Article Inspection Reports workspace.
If you chose an item in the Inspected Item field, then the fields in the Inspected Item Details section are automatically populated. The remainer of the sections are filled in as required during the lifecycle of the FAI report.
