Remove the link to a picklist record

This template is not currently available for Fusion Manage Extension sites.

Note: Before you start, you must be the site administrator to perform these steps.

By default, when a picklist is added to a field in a workspace's Item Details Tab, it is set to the Item Descriptor. This creates the field as a link to the picklist record. This may be useful if the picklist record contains further information, such as supporting documentation.

However, you may change this so that the picklist field contains static values only. To do this:

  1. Navigate to Administration > Workspace Manager and expand the view under the workspace that contains the picklist you want to edit.
  2. Click Item Details Tab.
  3. Beside the picklist field you want to edit, click Edit (edit).
  4. In the Pick List Options section, change the second drop-down list from Item Descriptor to Value 1 (or whichever value is relevant to this field).
  5. Click Save.

Now, when someone selects a value from the picklist in that field, it will no longer link back to the picklist record.
