Properties
Autodesk Tandem offers easy access to asset data with its Properties Panel. First, by interacting directly with the viewer you can select assets, and the Properties panel will open. This provides the user with the Asset Information that has either been imported with the model (Design properties) or was manually entered.

Available Asset Data
There are several sections in the Properties Panel which organize the asset data. The first section is Asset Properties where custom parameters are grouped by the parameter category.
Next up, the Relationship section details what Spaces, Connections, and Systems that are associated with the asset. In some cases, you may see combined levels here as well.
Then the Design Properties section, which also has properties grouped by parameter category, displays information found in the authoring model. These properties cannot be updated in Tandem. They can only be updated in the authoring model and when it is reimported again, Tandem brings in only the changes made and won’t entirely overwrite what was initially imported in.
Populating/Updating Asset Data
Before asset properties can be updated, assets must be Classified. Once Classified, asset properties can be manually populated/updated in the properties panel. Click in the field to the right of the property name. Then, type or select the asset information.
Once we have allocated a value for any of these parameters the asset is now considered a tagged asset and will count toward the total tagged asset limits of your subscription. At any point, you can review the total count of tagged assets within a facility or review totals across your portfolio under the Usage tab of our Manage page.
The process is the same for elements with Type properties. The only difference here is that these properties belong to all identical assets. For example, in the picture below, we have four windows of the same type. So, when we update a Type property for the one selected window, we will be updating that parameter for that window and all the identical ones.
