Add or change an item's thumbnail

Requirements

The item must have a status of Development in order to attach or update its thumbnail.

Note: Tenant Administrators may attach a thumbnail to a Released or Released_External item. No one may attach a thumbnail to an item that has an Approval Pending status.

Add or update a thumbnail

If an item does not have a CAD model, you may add a thumbnail to the item to represent it. You may also change the thumbnail of an item that already has a model attached to it if you want the item represented in a different way.

  1. In the project's BOM (bm-upchain-web-mceclip0-02.png) section, select the item for which you want to attach a thumbnail.

  2. Select more actions mceclip1.png > Import > Thumbnail.

    • The Thumbnail window opens.

  3. Click Select document to locate the file in the file explorer, or if you have a file explorer open, drag and drop the file into the Drop File Here box.

  4. Click OK.

The thumbnail is updated and is displayed in the Thumbnail column in the BOM table and in the item details pane.
