Onboard your team to Fusion Manage

Fusion Manage

Fusion Manage requires a separate license and can be used with Fusion or independently. Learn more.

Note:

Updated features and workspaces described in this topic are being rolled out gradually to customers. Contact your Autodesk representative for more detail.

Once you have configured your Fusion Manage site, start inviting your team. Your team should complete onboarding. This familiarizes them with daily Fusion Manage use.

Manage training data

There are tutorials for you and your team. Work through them to learn Fusion Manage. These tutorials have your team generate their own data. This may clutter your hub and Fusion Manage workspaces over time.

Recommendations

  • To prevent clutter, create a dedicated training project. Each team member will create similar data in the tutorials. Ensure each person has their own folder to work in.
  • Set project permissions to Reader. Give each person Editor permissions for their own folder. This way, they can only work with data they create.
  • Consider archiving data on the Fusion Manage side to hide unnecessary data.

Manage change approval templates

Your team will choose a change template when releasing items in tutorials. The change template is mandatory. It specifies change coordinators who progress workflows. It also specifies approvers who sign off on changes. You can manage change templates and tutorial completion in several ways.

Recommendations

  • Create one change template (see Tutorial 4: Change templates). Have one person manage all team change requests and change orders during tutorials.
  • Let team members create their own template or clone an existing one. They set themselves as change coordinator. They should include initials in the template name for easy identification.
  • Have team members work in groups. Use one change coordinator and template per group.
  • The Editor [Change Approval Templates] role grants template creation access. This role applies to everyone by default. Consider who should have this ability. Also consider archiving templates when no longer needed.
  • Change templates may include predefined tasks. These tasks copy to change requests and orders. Tutorials 3 and 4 bypass task completion. To complete these tutorials, the change coordinator must remove tasks from the Task Planning tab. This allows fast tracking to CCB review.
