Polyline on medial axis

Adds polylines along the medial axis, or skeleton, of a cluster left unsupported by other support actions

Important: For this action to work properly, it is necessary to turn the cluster setting Duplicate support to Tolerate duplicate support, otherwise the action may not produce any supports at all.

This action is typically used to fill corners of clusters where the cumulative border distance of the volume-support would cause the corner to be excessively under-supported.

Previously called Medial axis with polyline

Parameter Description Notes
Description

Holds a text label for the action that remains visible even when the action parameters are collapsed in the script tab

Color

Sets a display color for the support elements generated by this action

Cannot be reverted once changed, only explicitly set to a new color

Cluster

Search parameters for areas of contiguous triangles requiring supports

See Cluster detection reference

Minimum edge length

The distance kept between the cluster's contour and the cluster's volume supports that is required for a skeletal polyline to be created

Contour offset to wall

The anchor points along the contour can be moved further apart from the edge. This offset is the distance kept from the edge to the next wall.

Free contour offset

The distance between an anchor point and a non-wall-type section of the cluster contour

Offset to border

This parameter affects the length of the skeletal reinforcements in narrow cluster sections. The skeletal polyline is extended towards the wider portions of the cluster until its end is at least this distance away from the closest point in the cluster's contour.

Up to 10 mm
