Clone a QIP

A quality inspection plan (QIP) might contain similar information to another plan that you want to create. You might also have quite a few items to inspect and therefore need to create many QIPs. Instead of filling out a new QIP from scratch each time, you can clone an existing QIP to create another one, then only modify specific fields as required. See Clone an Item for information on how to do this.

When the QIP is created, it is assigned an item number based on the rules set for items created in this workspace and added to the list of QIPs in the Quality Inspection Plans workspace. It has a status of Definition. You may now modify the content of the QIP until it is ready to use.
