Resourcing Objects

The InfoAsset Manager resourcing system allow users to allocate persons, equipment or components to Scheduled Tasks (surveys or repairs) and Incidents.

There are four different types of resourcing objects:

  • Resource - person (contractor) or team performing the task or part of the task.
  • Material - equipment or components to be "consumed" during the maintenance work.
  • Approval Level - task approval level. This is mainly implemented by InfoAsset Mobile users and states a cost threshold over which authorisation to perform the task must be obtained.
  • Order - orders related to the materials used to perform the task.

The table below lists all the network objects that can have one or more associated resourcing objects.

User Defined Incident

Resourcing objects can be viewed and edited from the relevant grid window in the Resource Grid .

To create a new Resourcing Object, manually enter the corresponding data in the relevant grid. Please refer to the Digitising Network Objects topic for further information.

Associating Resourcing Objects to Scheduled Tasks and Incidents

Resourcing objects can be associated to scheduled tasks or incidents in the object property sheet, and more particularly the Resource Details section. A scheduled task or incident can have one or more associated resources.

  • Open the Resource Details tab (tabbed Property Sheet) or click on the button to the right of Resource Details in the Object Properties Window.
  • Select one or more resources and / or materials (one resource / materialper row) to associate to the survey or repair. The Resource ID and the Material ID combo boxes respectively show a list of all the available resources / materials.
  • Type in any estimated hours / costs / numbers(when creating a new scheduled task) and/or actual hours / costs / numbers (when updating a scheduled task or incident) in the relevant cells of the grid.
  • Updated resource management figures can be generated at this stage.
