Base plate

Uses either part and closed volume support or the part bounding box to generate a contour-following plate volume on the platform

Parameter Description Notes
Description Holds a text label for the action that remains visible even when the action parameters are collapsed in the script tab
Color

Sets a display color for the support elements generated by this action

Cannot be reverted once changed, only explicitly set to a new color

Outer offset

Sets the margin to generate the contour of the base plate. The margin is added to the shadow area of the part, or the part's bounding box, or the build platform's edges, depending on settings, as well as to any contours of solid volume support structures at their termination on the build platform.

Caution: When Boundary is set to Platform, negative values may be necessary to avoid creating interference with no-build zones and physical buildroom boundaries.

-500 mm to 500 mm

Maximum height

Sets the thickness of the base plate

0.01 mm minimum
Taper angle

Applies a taper to the base plate's circumference. Positive angles taper the plate towards the top. Tapering only ever adds onto the contour offset.

-60° to 60°

Bounding shape

Selects the shape reference. Options Rectangle and Inverted silhouette additionally use either the part's bounding box or the platform edge.

Silhouette, Rectangle, Inverted silhouette, Convex silhouette

Boundary

Sets the reference for the base plate's outer contour when the inner contour is provided by the part's shadow

Caution: Base plate generation in the Platform setting does not observe no-build zones.
  • Offset, Platform
  • Rectangle andInverted silhouette only
Fill inner contour

If the shadow area and the area occupied by solid volume support produces fully enclosed areas, this sets whether they should also be covered by the base plate.

Note: Enclosed areas are only tested for before the margin is applied. Any areas that (would) become enclosed by overlapping offsets of neighboring shadow or support areas are ignored.

Silhouette, Inverted silhouette only

Pattern

Instead of being completely solid, the baseplate can be generated with a structured perforation.

  • Solid: No structure at all
  • Rectangular: Square holes
  • Hexagonal: Hexagonal holes
  • Circular: Circular holes
  • Column: Circular columns
Cell size

The distance between parallel walls in a perforation, not counting the solid walls between perforations

Rectangular, Hexagonal, Circular, Column only

Pattern wall thickness

Thickness of the solid wall between adjacent perforations

0.1 mm

Perimeter wall thickness

Sets a separate thickness for the wall following the base plate's circumference

0.1 mm

Polygon corner

Affects triangle resolution of the circular features

Circular, Column only
