Create a quality inspection

1. Open the Quality Inspections workspace.

2. Click Create .

3. In the Summary section, fill in all fields as necessary. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk.

   1. From the Related QIP drop-down list, choose the QIP that this QI is based on. This will fill in a lot of the other information in the QI.
   2. (Optional) From the Inspected Item drop-down list, select the item that is being inspected.
   3. (Optional) From the Related Supplier drop-down list, select the supplier that supplied the item being inspected.
   4. (Optional) Beside Performed By, select whether this inspection is being carried out by an internal employee or a third party.
   5. (Optional) Beside Deadline, choose a date for when this inspection must be completed by.

4. Click Save.

The QI is created, assigned an item number based on the rules set for items created in this workspace, and added to the list of QIs in the Quality Inspections workspace. The information in the Inspection Plan and Inspection Plan Images sections is populated from the corresponding fields in the QIP. They cannot be modified. If the QIP contained measurements, these are entered into the Measurements tab. There may be fields to fill in here before the QI can be closed. The QI has a status of Open.
