Options Dialog (SWMM)

This dialog is used to set up the processing options and surcharge methods which are to be used for a SWMM run. It is displayed when you click Options in the SWMM Schedule Hydraulic Run View.

Processes Page

Rainfall/runoff

A check in the box indicates that the rainfall/ routing process is to be simulated. Checked by default.

Rainfall dependent I/I

A check in the box indicates that rainfall dependent infiltration / inflows are to be simulated. Checked by default.

Snowmelt

A check in the box indicates that snowmelt is to be simulated. Checked by default.

Groundwater

A check in the box indicates that any percolation of infiltrated water into groundwater layers are to be simulated. Checked by default.

Flow routing A check in the box indicates that flow routing is to be simulated. Checked by default.
Water quality A check in the box indicates that water quality is to be simulated. Checked by default.

Surcharge Method Page

Surcharge method

The following choices are available for handling surcharge conditions:

  • Extran (default) - uses a variation of the Surcharge Algorithm to update nodal heads when all connecting links become full.
  • Slot - uses a Preissmann Slot to add a small amount of virtual top surface width to full flowing pipes when updating nodal heads.
