Raster flat finishing creates a raster toolpath on the flat areas on a model. Raster flat toolpaths are useful for finishing flat areas, particularly on open, rectangular parts.
Tip: Raster flat finishing provides a simple interface for machining flat areas of a model. More extensive flat machining options are available in the Model area clearance strategy.
This strategy supports Boundary curves.
More extensive flat machining options are available in the Model area clearance strategy.
The availability of this strategy depends on the machining function you are using.
The Raster flat finishing strategy is available for the following machining functions:
PartMaker/SwissCAM and PartMaker/Turn-Mill
- Mill XY Plane
- Mill 5-Axis Plane
- Mill ZY Plane
- Mill End, Polar
PartMaker/Mill
- Mill XY Plane
- Mill 5-Axis Plane
- Mill 4-Axis Plane
On the Strategy dialog, the following pages are available for the Raster flat finishing strategy:
- Raster flat finishing —The main page used to define a raster flat finishing toolpath.
- High speed — Settings to enable the arc fitting of profiles to avoid sharp changes in direction in internal corners.
The remaining pages are common toolpath creation controls.
Tip: Use the Surfacing Defaults dialog to specify the default settings for Advanced Surface Machining toolpaths.
