Work in Sketch Mode

Use From Sketch and To Sketch commands to switch between sketch and laser data modes.

From Sketch takes any 2D or 3D sketch and converts it to laser data using wireframe geometry as a reference. It also converts 2D and 3D curves and features. Because laser projection only uses straight lines, arcs and spline shapes are matched as closely as possible. Running a simulation helps you identify areas that might need fine-tuning in TruLaser settings.

As part of the conversion, TruLaser creates its own file which is not linked to the original sketch. If you need to make a correction to the original sketch, it is best to go back and make the fix in the original sketch and then click From Sketch again to pull the updates back into TruLaser.

To Sketch takes everything in the tree and converts it to a sketch so that you can make finer detail adjustments. It does not convert the straight lines used in TruLaser back to arcs or splines in the sketch.
