To remesh in repair

Regenerate a part, shell, or selection with triangles as close to the original as possible

The repair module offers remeshing that can be applied to a selection of triangles. This is helpful where areas bordered by sharp edges are remeshed without risking a change to the edge's shape.

  1. Select the part to repair.
  2. Optional: Make your selection of triangles using the selection tools in the Edit menu or Select section in the main menu.
  3. From the main menu, choose Remesh.
  4. Make your selection and adjustments as needed:
    • Maximum Edge Length: Will attempt to use triangles up to this length for their edges
    • Smoothing: Softens transition angles between non-parallel triangles
    • Selected/All Triangles: Ignore, or adhere to, the current selection when performing the remeshing
    • Remesh Edge of Selection: Allows the subdivision of triangle edges at the outer rim of the selection to have more points where newly generated triangles can originate
    • Keep Mesh Information: Will not discard information like texturing when remeshing. Increases calculation time significantly.
  5. Click Remesh.
