Before You Start

When working on a project, Autodesk recommends that you line up laser data and the assembly model at the origin point.

Set Default Location for Inserted Components

1. In Inventor, select Tools Application Options.
2. In the Application Options dialog box, go to the Assembly tab.
3. Select Place And Ground First Component At Origin.
4. Click OK.

Select Assembly Origin for Laser Data

When you insert laser data into a project, the Insert Laser Data dialog box opens.

• Select Assembly Origin so that laser data is inserted at the origin point.
