To import network data from a SWMM4 text file
- Open the network to be updated
- Select Import
Modelfrom SWMM4 text file from the Network menu. This displays the
SWMM4 Import Dialog.
- Enter the path to the text file you want to import in the Network (DAT) box, or use the browse button to select a file from a Windows File Open dialog. (SWMM4 text files traditionally have the extension .DAT, but this is not mandatory).
- SWMM4 uses the Manning equation to represent roughness. In InfoWorks ICM, Manning values can be represented as either M = 1 / n or n. Use the Select Network Roughness Type radio buttons to select your preference.
- Set the network system type to an appropriate value using the System Type combo box.
- Click OK to continue the import. The OK button is only enabled if you enter the name of an existing text file.
Tip: The importer supports the following:
- RUNOFF and EXTRAN blocks in the SWMM4 data files
- Asset data only. Event data (e.g. rainfall, inflow hydrographs, etc.) is not imported
- SWMM4 EPA release v4.31
- SWMM4 v4.4h (partial support only)
