Add Text Properties

Laser projectors can draw plain text as a series of laser projected points. Instead of creating geometry that represents each letter, you can simply type a text string in TruLASER that will be converted into laser lines at projection time. Text can only be displayed on a flat plane. Therefore a position and orientation must be defined so the projection system knows the best way to resolve the text to geometrical features. 3D text should be created as individual geometry or else it will appear warped on your 3D tool.

Text is added at the group level by right-clicking on a group name in the tree and selecting Add Text.

To define the text values, right click on the text node and select Edit Properties.

Enter your settings and click Apply. Refer to the table below for property details.

Name A unique name to help you easily identify this text
Text The text as it should appear in the layout
Size Text height
Color Select from a list of color options for this text display.
Note: This option is not supported by all projector types.
Location X, Y, Z The X (horizontal), Y (vertical), Z (depth) coordinates for the text location
Baseline X, Y, Z A relative value indicating a direction from the text Location. This direction corresponds to the direction that the text will run from left to right.
Up X, Y, Z A relative value indicating a direction from the text Location. This direction corresponds to the outward vector that the text will follow. The result determines if you are looking at the text from above or below the location.
