Solver message 305320
Message Text
** WARNING 305320 ** Excessively high polymer temperatures have been reached in some regions.
A temperature limit of xxx.xx C will be applied.
Explanation
This warning appears in the analysis log, at the timestep when the limit was first reached.
High temperatures often occur as a result of shear heating, especially in the gate region, and/ or as a result of the sudden polymer flow after a valve opens. The 3D Flow solver applies a temperature limit if the temperatures rise to unlikely values, because material degradation at these extreme values is not simulated, and it is also likely that wall slip would limit the actual shear rates and therefore the shear heating.
The temperature limit is calculated as follows:
Find the maximum T1 of the following
- Initial melt temperature
- Global melt temperature
- Mold temperature profiles, where present
- Absolute maximum melt temperature (for thermoplastic materials only)
- Recommended maximum mold temperature (for thermoset materials only)
The limit is defined as T1 + 100
Resolution
Check whether shear heating is a problem, especially in the gate region.
Check excessive heat as a result of sudden polymer flow after a valve opens.
Check the mesh for problems, such as extremely distorted elements.
