Solver message 98988

Message text

** WARNING 98988 ** The mesh match percentage ( match percentage value %), and reciprocal mesh match percentage ( reciprocal match percentage value %) for the Dual Domain mesh are less than the recommended minimum value of 85%. This may affect the accuracy of the results. To identify the poorly matched areas of the part, use the Dual Domain Mesh Match Diagnostic in the Mesh menu. To improve the mesh matching, use the Match Nodes mesh tool, remesh the part, or remove fine details, such as fillets, in the original CAD model.

Explanation

Correct matching of pairs of elements on each side of a Dual Domain part is important for accurate recognition of the local geometry and for determining part thickness values. A mesh match percentage less than 85% may adversely affect the accuracy of results.

Resolution

Click (Mesh > Mesh Diagnostics > Dual Domain Mesh Match Diagnostic) and display the mesh matching in the part. Ensure that the edges of the part have been correctly identified. Some improvement in mesh matching may be possible by manually correcting the mesh match classification in the properties of the element, or using the Match Nodes command in the Mesh Tools dialog (Mesh > Mesh Tools > Nodal Tools > Match Nodes). If necessary, remesh the part with different meshing parameters. For highly curved surfaces, ensure that Post processing and Match mesh are selected in the Mesh Control tab of the Generate Mesh dialog (Mesh > Generate Mesh). In addition, make sure that Enable chord height control is selected in the Edge Length tab. Where poor mesh matching is due to too much fine detail in the model, simplify the model in the original CAD system.
