Use the Laser Data dialog to set the feed rate and laser settings for each material and thickness.
To display this dialog, click the Laser Data button on the Tool Data dialog or Edit Tool dialog.
The following settings are available on the Laser Data dialog:
Laser Data Page — This is page on the control which will store laser values.
Cutting Thickness — The height of the laser beam. This setting will depend on the manufacturer's instructions for the thickness of material.
Laser Pulse — Select the behaviour of the laser depending on the requirements of the material:
- Continuous Wave — Select to cut continuously with the laser.
- Pulse — Select to pulse the laser on and off.
Frequency — Enter how often the laser turns on when using Pulse.
Pulse Width — Enter how long the laser turns on for when using Pulse.
Assist Gas
Pressure — Enter the rate at which the assist gas comes into the nozzle of the laser.
Selection Setting — Enter a number to select a specific gas, as multiple may be connected to the laser. Documentation provided with the Post Config File will detail specific requirements for these fields.
Description — Enter a human-readable description of the gas being used.
Pierce Power Level — Enter the energy fed into the laser at the start of the cut as a percentage of the maximum output power for the laser.
Cutting Power Level — Enter the energy fed into the laser while cutting as a percentage of the maximum output power for the laser.
Lens Position — Enter the laser position to change the focal point of the laser beam.
Feed Rate — Enter the cutting feed of the laser.
