Use the Ranges dialog to change the axis setup options (such as, tool diameter, speed and feed) for the graphs displayed on the Material dialog.
To display this dialog, click the Ranges button in the Material dialog:
The following settings are available:
Operation Type — Select the operation type (such as, Drill, Tap, Chamfer) for which you want to view, or change, ranges.
Axis options — The axis options vary depending on the type of machining operation selected. For example, for a Drill operation the axis options are Tool Diameter, Speed and Feed, but for a Thread operation the axis options are Thread Diameter and Speed. For each option you can specify:
- From — Enter a starting value on the axis.
- Increment — Enter the increment between each point in the range.
- No. Points — Enter the number of points on the axis.
Depending on the operation type that is selected, the following axis options may appear:
- Tool Diameter — Enter the tool diameter for the current operation.
- Speed — Enter the surface speed for the current operation.
- Feed — Enter the feed rate for the current operation.
- Threads per Inch — Enter the number of threads per inch.
- Hole diameter — Enter the hole diameter for the current operation.
- Radial Depth of Cut — Enter the radial depth of cut for the current operation.
- Depth of Cut — Enter the depth of cut for the current operation.
- Thread Diameter — Enter the thread diameter for the current operation.
- Tip Size — Enter the tip size for the current operation.
Metric — Select this option if you want to supply metric values on this dialog.
Cutting Step Correction Factor — Enter a value to decrease the cutting step for hard materials. The actual Z_Step is calculated by multiplying the Cutting Step programmed with each tool by the Cutting Step Correction Factor.
Thread Infeeds — Enter the defaults for the First Infeed and Minimal Infeed values, which are available on the Profile Group Parameters, Turn dialog when you select a Threading strategy. These defaults only take effect if there is a material file open.
- First Pass — This value is used as a default for First Infeed.
- Last Pass — This value is used as a default for Minimal Infeed.
