Use the Duplicate Face dialog to make copies of the current face (including all the geometry and groups). The duplicated faces are indexed at specified angle increments.
To display the Duplicate Face dialog, click the Duplicate button in the Setup dialog.
In PartMaker/Mill, you can duplicate the following types of faces:
- Mill XY Plane on a 5-Axis Rotary table.
- Mill 4-Axis Plane on cylindrical stock.
- Mill 5-Axis Plane on cylindrical stock.
- Mill 5-Axis Plane on a Standard table.
In PartMaker/SwissCAM and in PartMaker/Turn-Mill, you can duplicate the following types of faces:
- Mill XY Plane
- Mill 5-Axis Plane
- Mill ZY Plane
- Mill ZX Plane
The following settings are available:
Number of Copies — Enter the number of copies of the current face that you want to create.
Index Angle Increment — Enter the angle increments at which to index the new faces.
Insert Into List of Faces — Select this option if you want PartMaker to insert the new faces into the list of faces. If this option is not selected, the faces are not included in the list of faces, but PartMaker still simulates these faces and includes them in the output code.
A process with duplicate copies has a special icon next to the Face name in the Process Table. For example:
The number of copies and index angle increment are also displayed in the Process Parameters dialog.
Display Parameters Next to Face Names — Select this option if you want the number of copies and the angle to be displayed next to Face Name in the Setup dialog. For example, Front(1,180), where:
- Front is the name of the face.
- 1 is the number of copies.
- 180 is the index angle increment.
OK — Click to save your changes and close the dialog.
Cancel — Click to close the dialog without saving any changes.
