Use the Edit Tool dialog to view, or change, the tool settings for the selected tool.
The Edit Tool dialog is displayed when you:
- Click a Tool icon (for example,
) in the Profile Group Parameters dialog for Milling, the Profile Group Parameters dialog for Turning, the Cycles Data dialog, the Edit Cycle dialog, or the Process Table window.
If you click a Tool icon in the Process Table to edit a tool, PartMaker automatically updates the Tool No., Offset No., Comp No., and Tool Post information in the Process Table.
- Click the Add New Tool button on the Select Tool - Turning dialog or the Add button on the Select Tool - Milling dialog. This adds a new tool to the Tools Database file and displays details of the tool on the Edit Tool dialog for you to edit if you wish.
- Double-click on a tool in the Tool Data list on the Manage Tools Files dialog.
The settings available on the Edit Tool dialog depend on the type of tool you are using, and are similar to those on the Tool Data dialog for the tool.
Note: Not all of the settings are available in all
PartMaker applications.
