Use the Default Dimension Properties dialog to specify the default properties for any dimensions you add to different types of Face windows.
To display the dialog, select View > Dimensions and Notes > Default Dimension Properties.
The following settings are available:
Face Window — Select the Face window to which the defaults apply.
Font — Specify the font you want to use:
- User-Defined font — Select this option to select a specific font. Clicking the Set Font button displays the Font dialog. Use this dialog to select a specific font.. You can also specify the font's style (such as bold or italic) and its size.
- Default font — Select this option to use the default system font.
Text Height — If you have selected to use the default font, specify how you want the text height to be defined:
- Part Units — The text height is defined in part units.
- Screen Units — The text height is defined in screen units, assuming that Face window is maximized and the part boundaries are displayed entirely within the Face window (see
Full View).
Note: Autodesk recommends that the text height is defined in part units. If the text height is defined in screen units, the appearance of the text will be resolution-dependent and so may not look the same in reference to the Part geometry.
Arrow Angle — Specify the angle of the arrow.
Arrow Length — Specify the length of the arrow.
Separation Gap — Specify the distance between the geometric element and the dimension line.
Leader Length — Specify the length of the horizontal leader line. This applies only to Circular dimensions.
Decimal Places — Specify the number of decimal places used to display floating point numbers.
Set Same Properties for All Face Windows — Click this button if you want to use the properties you have defined as the default values for all Face windows.
Cancel — Click to close the dialog without saving your changes.
OK — Click to save your changes and close the dialog.
