Use the Sub-Spindle Rotation Options dialog to specify the axis and pivot point about which the sub-spindle rotates.
Note: This dialog is applicable only for Bar-Fed Mill machines with sub-spindles that can rotate between different orientation angles.
To display this dialog, click the Rotation Options button in the Sub-Spindle area of the Machine Data File dialog.
The following options are available:
Rotation Axis (R)
- Parallel to Y axis — Select to specify that the sub-spindle rotates about an axis that is parallel to the Y axis.
- 45 Degree Line in ZX Plane — Select to specify that the sub-spindle rotates about an axis that is inclined at 45 degrees in the ZX plane.
The rotary component moves when the sub-spindle rotates for part transfer and always moves in the X, Y and Z axis.
The non-rotary component does not rotate. Its motion axis can be restricted in the X, Y and/or Z axis.
The rotary axis rotates 180 degrees about an inclined axis.
Rotation Center (C)
- Automatically Calculated — Select to specify that PartMaker automatically calculates the pivot point for the sub-spindle.
- Defined by Model Origin of Sub-Spindle Component #1 — Select to specify the pivot point as the model origin of the first component attached to the sub-spindle.
