Stock Motion dialog (PartMaker)

Use the Stock Motion dialog to specify whether the stock or the tool moves in the Z axis.

To display this dialog, click the Stock Motion button in the Set Modes dialog.

Note: This dialog is available only in PartMaker/SwissCAM.

The following settings are available:

Move Stock in Z — Select to specify that the stock on the main spindle feeds in the Z-axis during machining. When selected, the tool's Z position is fixed at a certain distance (as specified by Tool Z Position (Tz)) from the guide bushing before each machining operation.

Move Tool in Z — Select to specify that the secondary tool of an M2 Synchronization Group has a programmable Z-axis. When selected, the stock's Z position is fixed at a certain distance (as specified by Stock Z Position (Sz)) from the guide bushing before each machining operation.

Tool Z Position (Tz) — Enter a value to position the tool away from the guide bushing before each machining operation. The default value is 0.

Stock Z Position (Sz) — Enter a value to position the stock away from the guide bushing before each machining operation. The default value is 0.

Note: These options are unavailable if the processes use a tool post (for example, a Gang Slide) that does not move in the Z axis.
