Leads dialog - Milling and Turning (PartMaker)

Use the Leads dialog to control the movement of the tool as it feeds on (Leads In) and off (Leads Out) a part.

To display this dialog, click the Leads button on the Profile Group Parameters dialog - Milling or the Profile Group Parameters dialog - Turning.

The following settings are available:

Leads In/Leads Out — Use these settings to define Leads In and Leads Out:

Leads In consist of an arc that is tangential to the start of the profile and a line tangential to this arc. Leads Out consist of an arc that is tangential to the end of the profile and a line tangential to this arc.

  • Arc Radius — Enter the radius of the arc.
  • Line Length — Enter the length of the line.
  • Angle — Enter the angle between the line and the profile. This is the same as the included angle of the arc.

Feedrate Definition— Select an option to specify the feed rate for the Leads In and Leads Out moves:

  • Process Table — Select this option to use the feed rate that PartMaker calculates in the Process Table.
  • User Defined — Select this option to use a different feed rate to the one in the Process Table.
Note: The Feedrate Definition options are displayed only for Finishing operations.

Buttons

— Click to copy the values specified for Leads In moves into the Leads Out fields.

— Click to copy the values specified for the Leads Out moves into the Leads In fields.
