In PartMaker/SwissCAM, the following settings are available on the Spindle Settings dialog:
Main Spindle
- Main Spindle Home Z Distance (Z) — Specifies the location of the face of the main spindle in reference to the face of the guide bushing.
- Guide Bushing Used — Specifies that the machine is capable of using guide bushing.
For information on setting this option for a given Post Processor, refer to the "Guide Bushing Support" section of the Post Processor Reference Guide.
Sub-Spindle
- Sub-Spindle Home Z Distance (Zh) — Specifies the Z-distance from the face of the guide bushing to the sub-spindle in Basic simulation. It is not used in Advanced simulation.
- Sub-Spindle Home X Distance (Xh) — Specifies the X-distance from the sub-spindle centerline to the X=0 line in Basic simulation. It is not used in Advanced Simulation.
Extended Nose Collet
- Max Diameter (d1) — Specifies the maximum diameter of a conically-shaped extended nose collet.
- Min Diameter (d2) — Specifies the minimum diameter of a conically-shaped extended nose collet.
- Extension (E) — Specifies the distance between the collet face and the sub-spindle face.
Simulation Settings
- Spindle(s) Transparency — Specifies how transparent the spindle(s) should appear. 0% creates a solid spindle, 100% creates a fully transparent (invisible) spindle(s).
- Spindle(s) Color — Click this button to display the Color dialog, where you can specify the color you want to use for the spindle during simulation.
Machine Origin
- Programmable Distance to Machine Zero — Select this option to enable a Machine Origin Distance to be entered.
- Machine Origin Distance (Zo) — Enter the distance you want the simulation origin to be set back from the face of the guide bushing, if this is required for the machine.
