5-Axis Rotary Table Properties dialog (PartMaker)

Use the 5-Axis Rotary Table Properties dialog to view, or modify, details of a 5-axis rotary table on a milling machine and specify how it is displayed during Full Machine Simulation.

To display this dialog, click the Properties button in the Table area of the Machine Data dialog.

The following settings are available:

Top Table Definition — Specify how you want to define the Top and the components to be displayed during Full Machine Simulation:

  • Parametric — Select this option to create a parametric representation of the Top Table from the values specified in the Top Table Dimensions area of the dialog.
  • Solid Model — Select this option to use a solid model to represent the Top Table. Click the Model Data button to select the model you want to use from the Model Data dialog.
  • Components — Click to display the Components dialog, where you can specify which components of the Top Table are displayed during Full Machine Simulation.

Top Table Dimensions — Complete these fields if you are creating a parametric representation of the Top Table:

  • Diameter (D) — Enter the diameter of the Top Table.
  • Thickness (t) — Enter the thickness of the Top Table.

Bottom Table Definition — Specify how you want to define the Bottom Table:

  • Parametric — Select this option to create a parametric representation of the Bottom Table from the values specified in the Bottom Table Dimensions area of the dialog.
  • Solid Model — Select this option to use a solid model to represent the Bottom Table. Click the Model Data button to select the model you want to use from the Model Data dialog.
  • Model Origin Coordinates — Enter the X, Y and Z coordinates to define the position of the Bottom Table model with respect to the Top Table Origin.

Bottom Table Dimensions — Complete these fields if you are creating a parametric representation of the Bottom Table

  • Length (L) — Enter the length of the Bottom Table.
  • Width (W) — Enter the width of the Bottom Table.
  • Height (H) — Enter The height of the Bottom Table.

Primary Rotary Axis for Bottom Table — This is the axis about which the 5-axis Table Table machine tilts or swivels.

  • Axis — Select the primary rotary axis for the Bottom Table.
  • Distance from Top Table Origin — Enter the distance from the origin of the Top Table to the Primary Rotary Axis. The origin of the Top Table is shown as yellow circle in the images displayed on the dialog.

Secondary Rotary Axis for Top Table — This is the axis about which the Top Table rotates. It is perpendicular to the face of the Top Table and passes through the Top Table model origin.

  • Axis — Select the secondary rotary axis for the Top Table.

Travel Limits — Enter the coordinates (Min X, Min Y, Min Z, Max X, Max Y, Max Z) that define the travel limits of the table.

Note: If the table cannot move in one or more axes, the corresponding Travel Limits fields are unavailable.
