The Surface Info – Cylinder dialog displays geometric information about the currently selected cylindrical face.
To display this dialog, double-click a cylindrical surface on a solid model.
The following settings are available:
Radius — Displays the radius of the selected cylindrical surface.
Height — Displays the height of the cylindrical surface.
C Angle — Displaysthe indexing angle required to machine this surface.
B Angle — Displays the angle between the axis of the cylinder and Z axis. This angle is useful for machines with a B-axis.
Coordinate System — Select an option to specify whether you want to display the Center1 and Center2 coordinates using Part or Face coordinates.
Center X1, Center Y1, Center Z1 — These fields display the X, Y, and Z coordinates of the center of one end of the cylindrical surface. By default, PartMaker chooses that end of the cylindrical surface that should be used as the point of tool entry, taking into consideration the orientation of the cylindrical surface and spindle type of the Face window.
Center X2, Center Y2, Center Z2 — These fields display the X, Y, and Z coordinates of the center of the second end of the cylindrical surface.
Transfer Unwrapped Geometry — This button is available only for Mill Diameter Index, Mill Cylinder, and Mill XY (with 5-axis milling enabled) Face windows:
- Mill Diameter Index, Mill Cylinder Face windows — Click to transfer the 'unwrapped geometry' on the selected cylindrical face to the current Face window. For a Mill Diameter, Index Face window, PartMaker transfers any cylindrical or conical hole geometry attached to the selected cylindrical face into the Face window. For a Mill Cylinder Face window, PartMaker transfers all the curves on the selected cylindrical face.
- Mill XY Face window (with 5-axis milling enabled) — In this case, PartMaker considers the cylinder to be a hole and it transfers the location of the hole to the Mill XY Face window as a 5-axis hole with a local origin. The depth of the hole is also transferred.
Project Outline — Click to project the peripheral edges of the selected surfaces onto the current PartMaker Face window. Any edge that is a curve is broken down into lines, based on the Curve Tolerance. PartMaker projects the outline in a direction perpendicular to the Face Plane of the current Face window. (For 5 axis faces, this will be the inclined plane.)
