Use the Sub-Spindle Properties dialog to define the sub-spindle component in the Machine Data (.mch) file.
To display this dialog, click the Properties button in the Sub-Spindle area of the Machine Data dialog.
The following settings are available:
Work Holding — Select the work holding for the sub-spindle. The following options are available:
- Collet.
- Chuck.
- Vise (only applicable for Bar-Fed Mill machines in PartMaker/Turn-Mill).
- Tool Head Collet (only applicable for Bar-Fed Mill machines in PartMaker/Turn-Mill).
Definition — Select how you want to define the sub-spindle for the machine:
- Parametric — Select this option to create a parametric representation of the sub-spindle from the Diameter and Length values.
- Solid Model — Select this option to use a solid model to represent the sub-spindle. Click the Model Data button to select the model you want to use from the Model Data dialog.
- Components — Click this button to display the Components dialog, where you can specify which components of the sub-spindle are displayed during Full Machine simulation.
Home Position — Enter the coordinates (Xh, Yh, Zh) of the sub-spindle home position.
Diameter (D) — Enter the sub-spindle diameter.
Length (L) — Enter the sub-spindle length.
Home Orientation Angle — Select the orientation of the sub-spindle when it is in its home position.
Travel Limits — Enter the coordinates (Xh1, Yh1, Zh1, Xh2, Yh2, Zh2) of the sub-spindle's travel limits.
Cancel — Click to close the dialog without saving any changes.
OK — Click to save any changes and close the dialog.
