This topic describes the settings available for the Mill 4-Axis Plane when using Cylinder stock.

List of Face Windows

List of Face Windows — This area lists the Face windows that have been created for the current job. Select the Face window whose details you want to view, or edit, on this dialog.

Rename to — Enter a name for the currently selected Face window. If you do not enter a name, PartMaker uses Untitled as the name for the Face window.

Orientation

Length (L) — Enter the length of the finished stock.

X Face (F) — Enter the X coordinate of the finished, front face. PartMaker displays the Face Plane and axis at this coordinate in the Solids window. When the Face Plane is set for a solid model depends on the X Face, PartMaker automatically updates this field to reflect the Face Plane selected when using the Define Face Plane dialog.

Note: This field is available only for the first face you create when using a Rotary 4 Axis table. It is also not available for a Rotary 5 Axis table.

Stock Index Angle (C) — Enter the angle at which the stock must be oriented to machine this face. This option is available only when using a Rotary 4 Axis Table (with the Mill 4-Axis Plane machining function), a Rotary 5 Axis Table (with the Mill XY Plane or Mill 4-Axis Plane machining functions), or a Vertical Rotary Table (with the Mill XY Plane machining function).

Face Options — Click to display the Face Options dialog, where you can specify additional settings for the Face window.

Boundaries

Use the settings in this area of the dialog to set the stock boundaries:

OD — Enter the outside diameter of the stock.

ID — Enter the inside diameter of the stock. Enter 0 if the unmachined stock has no center hole.

Work Offset — If the postprocessor you are using supports work offset (or fixture) codes, enter the code that you want to use for the current Face window. PartMaker inserts this code into the NC programs for this job.

Buttons

New — Click to add a new Face window to the List of Face Windows. The new Face window inherits the settings used for the previously selected Face window.

Duplicate — Click to display the Duplicate Face dialog, which enables you to create duplicate copies of the currently selected Face window. The new Faces are indexed at specified C-angle increments and contain all the geometry and workgroups from the original Face window.

Apply — Click to apply your changes to the currently selected Face window.

Delete — Click to delete the currently selected Face window from the List of Face Windows, so it is no longer available in the .job file.

User Data — Click to display the User Data dialog, where you can specify custom data (known as User Data) for the current Post Configuration file.

Notes

Notes — Enter any notes that are relevant to the current Face window or the job. Depending on the configuration of the postprocessor you are using, these notes can be included in the NC programs file for this job. Refer to the ConfigPost Reference Help for more information about configuring postprocessors.
