Use the Tool Assembly dialog to view all of the tools used by the processes in the Process Table and view, or modify, details of each tool's assembly.
Select the Job Optimizer > Tool Assembly menu option to display the Tool Assembly dialog.
The following settings are available:
List of Tools — The area at the top of the dialog lists all of the tools used in the Process Table and information about each tool:
- Tool Post — The tool post on which the tool is mounted. This is used for lathes with more than one tool post. The tool post is defined in the Tool Data dialog.
- Tool No — The Tool Number of the tool as defined on the Tool Data dialog.
- Tool ID — The Tool ID of the tool, as defined on the Tool Data dialog.
- Tool Name — The name of the tool, as defined on the Tool Data dialog.
- Holder ID — The ID of the tool holder (as defined on the Holder Data dialog) used for the tool. PartMaker displays ? in this field if you need to select a holder. Use the Select Holder button to select a holder.
- Holder Name — The name of the holder as defined on the Holder Data dialog.
- Station ID — The Station ID of the tool in a multi-tool holder, as defined on the Holder Data dialog.
- Tool Attachment Direction — The tool attachment direction. This is used only in Advanced Simulation for turrets with a programmable B-axis turret to attach a tool in the specified axis.
Station ID — Displays the Station ID of the tool in a multi-tool holder. If more than one Station ID is defined for the tool on the Holder Data dialog, you can select the station you want to use.
Tool Attachment Direction — Select the axis in which to attach the tool. Only used in Advanced Simulation for turrets with a programmable B-axis turret to attach a tool in the specified axis.
Select Holder — Click to display the Select Holder dialog, where you can select a holder for the currently selected tool.
Detach Holder from Tool — Click to detach the holder from the selected tool.
Tool Assembly Preview — Click to display a 3D model of the tool assembly, so you can preview how it will be displayed in simulation.
Holder Data — Click to display the Holder Data dialog, where you can view, or change, information about the machine's tool holders.
Tool Post Layout — Click to display the Tool Post Layout dialog, where you can specify how the holder is mounted to the tool post.
