Pull with Sub-Spindle (PartMaker)

Use the Pull with Sub-Spindle Material Control Process (MCP) to feed the bar stock out of the main spindle by clamping onto the part with the sub-spindle.

When Pull with Sub-Spindle is selected, the following settings are available on the Material Control Process Parameters dialog:

Grip Coord(Zg) — Enter an incremental Z distance (measured from the face of the bar stock) to where the sub-spindle clamps onto the bar.

Pull Distance(Zp) — Enter the distance that the sub-spindle pulls out the material. This is an incremental Z distance.

Process Time — Enter an estimate of the time it takes the sub-spindle to move from its home position at the beginning of the process to when it:

  • finishes pulling the material; or
  • moves back to its home position at the end of the process.
Tip: Use the Process Table Time Units option on the Preferences dialog to select the unit (Minutes or Seconds) for entering process times.

Note — Enter any note you want to be associated with the process.

User Data — Click to display the User Data dialog, where you can specify custom data (known as User Data) for the current Post Configuration file.
