Remove from Main Spindle (PartMaker)

Use the Remove from Main Spindle Material Control Process (MCP) to remove a workpiece from the main spindle using a Part Ejector mounted in the turret.

When you select Remove from Main Spindle, the following settings are available on the Material Control Process Parameters dialog:

Tool Info

Tool Post — Select the turret where the Part Ejector is mounted.

  • Turret #1 — The upper turret on slant-bed lathes or the front turret on flat-bed lathes.
  • Turret #2 — The lower turret on slant-bed lathes or the rear turret on flat-bed lathes.
  • Turret #3 — The third turret on lathes with three or four turrets.
  • Turret #4 — The fourth turret on four-turret lathes.
  • Tool Head — The articulating (B-axis) tool post. For single-turret lathes, select Turret #1.

Tool No — Enter the number of the tool station where the Part Ejector is mounted. This must be a one or two-digit integer.

Tool Offset — Enter the offset number for the Part Ejector. This must be a one or two-digit integer.

Grip Coord(Zg) — Enter an incremental Z distance, measured from the face of the workpiece on the main spindle to where the Part Ejector clamps onto the workpiece.

Process Time — Enter an estimate of how long it takes the Part Ejector to move from its safe index position at the start of the process to its safe index position after it has released the work piece.

Tip: Use the Process Table Time Units option on the Preferences dialog to select the unit (Minutes or Seconds) for entering process times.

Note — Enter any note you want to be associated with the process.

User Data — Click to display the User Data dialog, where you can specify custom data (known as User Data) for the current Post Configuration file.
